My last week at Izmir + the flight home

Hello there!

First of all, to those who have been following  my blog frequently, I would like to apolgize for this late blog update of my last week at Izmir. Which is at the time of writing 3 weeks ago.

But what has happened in this last week? My last week basically consisted of saying good bye and see you next time to all of the people who helped me on either the research or to those who have become close friends to me within those 5 weeks.

During this last week it was also clear to me that I had to go Izmir one more time. For two diverse reasons, the first one being the fact that I hadn't gotten all the desired information yet. And the second one was the fact that I would write some part of the analysıs on the hinterland of Izmir in Holland. Therefore I wasn't able to show some preliminary results to the professors yet.

I can say however, that I have learnt a lot about Turkey and about the importance of having a good network. With Dokuz Eylül University I have definitely gotten a start to my journey in a very difficult sector for somebody who is just a student. But as it turned it can always go even better(more on that in my blogs on Istanbul).

Eventually I took the plane back again to Düsseldorf and I was able to meet my friends in The Netherlands again. The flight went without any problems and 3 hours later I was in Germany

Regards,
Tim
