About
I am Ivo Kervezee (21), 4th year student of Asian Trade Management at the Rotterdam University of applied sciences. From my childhood till now, I always have had a special interest in foreign countries and learning foreign languages. These were the main reasons why I chose to study Asian Trade Management. During my study I also developed a special interest in logistics and transport. Therefore, it was no wonder that my internship in China (part of my study) was highly involved in logistics and transport. During that internship in China, I worked for SE-Track, a joint-venture of NEA and their Chinese partner, the Ministry of Transport Waterborne Transportation Institute (WTI). Besides improving my cross-cultural and bilingual skills, I also came in contact with a consultant from NEA during this internship. After I arrived back in Holland, NEA was the first company I contacted when I needed to find a company for my thesis research. Quite to my surprise, NEA not only offered me a challenging thesis topic, but also gave me the opportunity to return to China on behalf of my research. I am excited to return to China because I have the opportunity again to develop my professional and bilingual skills. On top of that, I am very pleased that i have the chance to meet and work with my ex-colleagues of WTI again.Research for this study will partly be executed in the Netherlands and partly in China. From the 19th of april till the 17th of may, Dutch firms will be visited to determine what kind of products/services are offered, and how those products/services can facilitate the development of evironmental protection and safety in the Chinese maritime sector.
After this period, research continues in China to define the policies and the needs of the relevant Chinese stakeholders regarding the development of environmental protection, safety and security.
