Meet and Greet!
Time is not on my side because time goes by when you are having fun in what you do. First about the Delft3D model it works but I still have some problems with modeling the neap tide. I am working on altering my tidal boundary conditions and to see if it helps in modeling the tide better compared to the predicted tide. But fortunately Mr. Cong an expert and also one of the chairman of the Vietnamese counterpart within the Mekong Delta Plan is coming towards Ho Chi Minh City next week. Together with him and I think also Mr. Bao/Mr. Duong we will travel towards my area of interest. Chau Doc/Rach Gia/Ha Tien/Mekong River I’m not sure yet where we will go.
A second nice thing is a meeting planned with professors of the Can Tho university. Last week I dropped an e-mail at the chairman of the civil engineering faculty. The ball began to accelerate very fast and they are very friendly in having a meeting with me. The reason why I wanted to have a meeting with Can Tho University is because they have researched the inundation problem related to climate change. Maybe they could provide me with information on the future discharges and frequencies high peak discharges will flow through the lower Mekong Rriver. That is why I will be traveling tomorrow towards Can Tho city and of course sinds I am already there I also will have a bit of site seeing in the city which is growing rapidly within the Mekong Delta.
I will keep you informed on my next blog!
