No stress!

Update of the first few weeks in Cape Verde:

I has been a while already since I first set foot on the Island of Sal in Cabo Verde. The first thing that crossed my mind when my plane had landed was the moon..

There are no trees and there is no green on this island! The shock however was fast gone when I entered my poolside appartment at the beach! I love this island this island with no trees!

It fast became clear in the first few days that you need to shift down a gear here. It simply is to warm here to be running around like everybody does in Holland. My dutch boss and my local college's are very nice people, so it felt at home in no time.

My work here has made good progress. After reading into the project in the first week, the first two reports had been delivered after three weeks! After having updated the reports, I then started to write a plan on how to organise the production of these reports by the local employees. Right now I am looking into a claim for the engineer, which is a very interesting case!

Back  to work now, but slowly, or as they say here in Sal: 'No stress!'
